OMG, Does She Have a Brain At All?

Update: Now she's pulling a Blumenthal on us and claiming she "misspoke." What she should have said is, "Sorry. I made it up."

------------------

How could someone like this be elected governor of major state -- or a minor one, for that matter? Heck, even the dimwitted Sarah Palin could have handled this better.

This is embarrassing. There are plenty of smart Republicans out there. Why can't the GOP get more of them to run for office?

  2. There are plenty of dopes in both parties... but it kills me that she was completely unprepared...I mean that is stupid and disrespectful and irresponsible all at once!

  3. Although I generally agree that you should chalk it up to dopes (in both parties), it's also true that elected officials pick up an imperial sense pretty quickly - in her mind she doesn't think that she needs to answer these questions any more than Spitzer (to pick an easy one!) does.

  4. Is there anyone out there who can honestly say they've never lost their train of thought? Admittedly, this was not a good time, but it happens to everyone.

  5. It does happen to everyone. But as I pointed out earlier, she "lost her train of thought" three times that evening and refused to acknowledge the questions about the unsubstantiated beheadings.
I suppose you could chalk it up to having a bad night. But I think she either made up the beheading stories or heard them from a unreliable source and simply did not know what to do. That's what it looked like to me.

  6. The so called losing of her train of thought looked a lot like dissociation to me. A scary psychological problem for a governor to have. And it was almost like she wasn't even hearing the question about the beheadings. This woman is showing serious signs of stress, and I won't be surprised if she steps down soon to spend " more time with her family. "

  8. I've often said that McMahon's WWE stewardship is a liability but maybe I'm wrong. Literally millions of people around this country enjoy pro wrestling. As for dying wrestlers, I'd love to see a study comparing premature deaths in the WWE with those in, say, the NFL. I suspect there's little difference in the injury and death rates between the two sports.
