Lieberman Wants NYT Investigated

Well, Peter. I guess our U.S. Senator disagrees with you and me. Joe thinks Assange should be prosecuted for treason and he said this about The New York Times (see video below):
Then what about the news organizations, including the Times, that have accepted it and distributed it? … To me, New York Times has committed at least an act of bad citizenship. And whether they’ve committed a crime, I think that bears very intensive inquiry by the Justice Department.
Sort of takes your breath away. I can't wait until 2012 when I can vote against him -- again.

  1. Agreed. Lieberman paints himself as such a patriot, but (to paraphrase Samuel Johnson) he is a scoundrel.

  2. Scoundrel is being nice. But your point is well taken.

  3. I think it was Vonnegut who said life is like junior high school. Joe L. is that kid, that goody two shoes, we all loathed when we were reading Lord of the Flies in what's now middle school.

  4. Worth noting that the NYT refused to publish details of the climategate emails from the UK and never published the Mohammed cartoons but decided that the wikileaks had to be published...

  6. Good point Matt. I wonder how the Gray Lady would explain that one away.

  7. The name Lieberman means "lover of man" (or something like that) and even though he has proven to us all that he’s the ultimate humanitarian, the quintessential philanthropist, and the patron saint of all that is truly good in this world. I just don’t trust him.

It’s too bad he's such a jellyfish. There's a saying in the Bible that goes "a leopard can't change its spots" and that's true, but a chameleon WILL ALWAYS change its color to fit into the scenery.
